Music for film
As a songwriter I love writing good ole' fashioned songs with a lush melody/harmony. The After Hours EP [Cardie] was a fun project in writing instrumentals and as a result it has reignited a passion for writing instrumental music.
I can write music drawing on influences from music across the world from Cuban, Reggae, Jazz, African, Indian, traditional Western, and other styles. I love clients playing me something and doing a pastiche or, am just as happy creating something completely original.
In coming years I'm hoping to develop the orchestral side of my writing further but am currently focussing on writing beautiful piano instrumentals and music for small groups of instruments.
I use a big selection of studio quality equipment both live and digital to get the sounds I need and have a bit of an obsession with retro keyboards!
Songwriting courses
Songwriting has been my passion for the last 20 years. Lennon & McCartney, Stevie Wonder, Brian Wilson, Gabriel Faure, Curtis Mayfield, Gladys Knight, Marvin Gaye, Iain Archer, Kirk Franklin and Bono are just some of the great artists who have really inspired me to keep developing my writing style.
Although I get inspired by the latest sounds I aim to make everything I write have a strong classic vibe.
